Job Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a highly qualified Senior Technical Trainer - Staff Trainer Operations to support the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity in Zambia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements specified in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Develop and deliver training programs for foreign security partners.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and international organizations to support peacekeeping operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) cumulative years of military experience, including combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience.
  • Attainment of military grade of O4 and higher (or NATO equivalent).
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years.
  • Experience as a senior trainer, military or civilian, to a foreign security partner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commanded a combat arms battalion-level unit in the military land forces.
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Battalion and/or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.
  • UN peacekeeping operations experience.
Physical Requirements
  • The ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors.
  • Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
  • Requires some physical exertion, such as walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces as well as time spent outdoors in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions.
Work Environment

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position is self-managed and works at the direction of the government and is directly related to the business operation supporting the customer's objectives.
Additional Qualifying Factors
  • As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.
  • If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
