Job Summary
The Athletic Coach Position at Allen ISD is responsible for instructing and working with student athletes to prepare for competitions, games, and overall strength and conditioning in a specific athletic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct and work with student athletes to develop their skills and prepare them for competitions and games.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve student athletes' strength and conditioning.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective athletic program.
- Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest coaching techniques and best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of coaching experience as an Assistant Coach or a Head Coach.
- Experience in supervising students in physical education classes, intramural, or other team-building/sports.
- Knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
- Knowledge of related athletics, sports equipment, and safety, including Concussion Training, First Aid/CPR/AED, and applicable Virginia High School League (VHSL) certifications and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Knowledge of educational technology and its application in the classroom.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
The Athletic Coach Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be flexible in scheduling and responsibilities.
