Position Overview:

We are seeking a Patient Registration Representative who will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless registration experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

The Patient Registration Representative will utilize outstanding customer service skills to guarantee a positive experience for patients during the registration process. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Accurate patient identification
  • Collecting comprehensive patient demographic information
  • Gathering insurance details and confirming eligibility and benefits
  • Assessing and collecting patient financial responsibilities
  • Directing patients to the Patient Registration Specialist for financial counseling and clearance as necessary

This role requires adherence to organizational policies and procedures related to patient financial obligations. The Patient Registration Representative will also serve as a valuable resource for patients and their families, clarifying hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient rights.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office, healthcare insurance company, or related revenue cycle roles; 2 years preferred.
  • Relevant education or training may substitute for lack of experience; a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures, along with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for payment assessments and possess intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with charity care programs and various government and non-government assistance programs is preferred.
