The Patient Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless patient experience during the registration phase. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Accurate patient identification

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office, healthcare insurance company, or related revenue cycle roles (2 years preferred).
  • Relevant education or training may compensate for a lack of experience; a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures, along with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform basic math for payment calculations and possess intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with charity care programs and various government and non-government assistance programs is preferred.
