Key Responsibilities

The Patient Registration Representative plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service during the patient registration experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurate patient identification
  • Gathering comprehensive patient demographic information
  • Collecting and verifying insurance details and eligibility
  • Assessing and collecting patient financial responsibilities
  • Directing patients to the Patient Registration Specialist for financial counseling and assistance as necessary

This role requires adherence to organizational policies regarding patient financial obligations. The Patient Registration Representative also serves as a resource for patients and their families, clarifying hospital policies and patient rights.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a hospital registration department, physician's office, healthcare insurance company, or related roles; 2 years preferred.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and medical terminology.
  • Basic mathematical skills for payment calculations and proficient computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with charity care programs and various governmental and non-governmental assistance programs.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $25.19 per hour.
