Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our team at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Frisco. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and admission processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter and update patient demographic information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Register patients and process their paperwork, including collecting upfront amounts due.
  • Escort patients and paperwork to the preoperative area.
  • Verify patient insurance information and explain co-pay and deductibles.
  • Process registration information efficiently and courteously.
  • Distribute and explain hospital information, brochures, and forms.
  • Obtain patient signatures on consent and insurance forms.
  • Support hospital and department policies, as well as department director and hospital administration.
  • Provide direction and assistance to patients, family members, and coworkers in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Maintain skills on equipment necessary to complete required responsibilities.
  • Utilize Meditech to register patients and collect monies.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One-year previous experience preferred.
  • Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
  • Good communication and people skills essential.
  • Ability to multitask.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional customer service to patients and families.
