ROLE SUMMARY:
The Procurement Clerk position is pivotal in managing local stakeholder relationships, overseeing supplier performance, and executing sourcing and contracting activities.

This role entails supporting local stakeholders by facilitating critical discussions with both internal and external parties, leading sourcing initiatives, and managing supplier performance processes to enhance value for the organization.

The primary focus is on the Kalamazoo MI site, with key categories encompassing Capital Construction, Equipment, and Engineering Services.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Local Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with local teams to identify their procurement requirements and offer insights on best practices and procedures.
  • Address and resolve day-to-day procurement inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Participate in essential discussions with internal and external stakeholders at the local facility.
  • Assist in the development of sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver value.
  • Support sourcing strategies that correspond with organizational goals based on input from internal stakeholders, including business leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to discussions on essential processes needed for coordination among local teams and stakeholders.
  • Work alongside internal teams, such as operations, finance, and legal, to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Aid stakeholders with project documentation review, guidance, and tracking of completion.
Operational Excellence

  • Assist in executing initiatives aimed at optimizing costs through local sourcing.
  • Identify and assess local suppliers, negotiate advantageous pricing, and monitor cost savings achieved.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to achieve cost reductions, increased efficiency, and enhanced supplier performance.
  • Analyze spending data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to refine procurement processes.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with local suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while upholding quality standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and delivery reports.
  • Participate in the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) process execution.
  • Support and lead minor supplier payment issue resolutions.
  • Assist in managing supplier escalation issues and performance-related resolutions.
  • Oversee site-based contracts.
  • Assist in negotiating bid exceptions, sole source, and single source items.
  • Develop content for RFx execution in the eSourcing system.
Supplier Performance Oversight

  • Facilitate the supplier performance process to maximize value for the organization.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Engage in regular operational interactions with suppliers, discussing metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and managing supplier process change approvals.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential local suppliers and establish a supplier database to streamline procurement processes.
  • Track supplier Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance and develop action plans as necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Operations & Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to coordinate business operations, client engagement, and customer relationship management.
  • Capacity to collaborate with internal teams, such as operations, finance, and legal, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Experience in identifying local suppliers, supporting negotiations for favorable pricing, and tracking cost savings.
  • Ability to prepare materials for presentations to executive leadership.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining procurement documentation, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and delivery reports.
  • Awareness of industry trends and best practices.
  • Comfort operating in environments characterized by ambiguity and changing market conditions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Business English.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement (1+ years for MBA/MS).
  • Experience presenting supplier perspectives to internal teams.
  • Experience monitoring supplier performance, tracking metrics, quality, and compliance.
  • Experience conducting market research to identify potential suppliers.
  • Experience maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Experience tracking supplier SLA compliance.
  • Experience with contract negotiations.
KNOWLEDGE:

  • Basic understanding of the supplier landscape (by category as relevant), including payroll, benefits, recruiting, and staffing.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement practices and supplier evaluation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with analytical skills and standard analytical tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access).
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and other relevant software.
  • Basic knowledge of communication platforms.

MUST HAVE:
Experience in Capital and Indirect Procurement Sourcing and Contracting.

COMPENSATION:


The pay rate range above is the base hourly pay range that Aditi Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location, and end client requirements).
