Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Graphic Packaging International, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the local purchasing function, developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, and ensuring the effective management of supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the purchasing process, including the review and approval of purchase requisitions, issuance of purchase orders, and receipt of goods.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the supply chain, including the balance between existing supplier relationships and new supplier development, to ensure a competitive environment and minimize disruptions.
  • Develop and implement local KPIs for purchasing, track and analyze data, and develop year-over-year cost reductions and countermeasures.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing teams and lead local sourcing initiatives, coordinating with corporate teams as needed.
  • Oversee onsite storeroom inventory, manage adequate levels of inventory, and work with the team to optimize inventory levels.
  • Oversee capital warehouse inventory balances and ensure proper turns for mill operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience with ERP required, SAP experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership, negotiations, and project management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or significant (10 years) experience in a related field required.

Work Environment

The general schedule is 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday, during normal business hours. Occasional overnight travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
