Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented intern to join our team at Select Industries Corp. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties Include:

  • Conducting a thorough assessment of inventory, performing research and analysis to ensure adherence to automotive quality benchmarks, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Assisting in the strategic planning and execution of an inventory relocation initiative, which involves the systematic setup of new inventory locations and the physical transfer of stock to a designated area within our facilities.
  • Inputting documents into our ERP System for streamlined access and management.
  • Executing time studies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks, including maintaining organized files and documents, as well as performing photocopying and faxing duties as required.
  • Reviewing documents for compliance, scanning, and filing them according to established retention policies and naming conventions.
  • Collaborating with various departments such as Engineering, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Sales to support cross-functional projects.
  • Engaging in special projects that may arise in areas such as engineering, quality control, production, and customer service.
  • Must reside in Ohio.
  • No relocation assistance will be provided.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Role

No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.

Qualifications

Required Education and Skills:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety, Sales, or Human Resources.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and other relevant software applications.
  • A willingness to engage in hands-on tasks across various facets of the aerospace design and manufacturing sectors.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • The role requires frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting.
  • Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is expected.
  • Employees must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch as necessary.
  • Exposure to the production environment is a key aspect of this role, including working near moving mechanical components and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • These physical demands are representative of what is necessary for successful performance in this position.
