The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (the Foundation) plays a pivotal role in uniting business, education, and community to enhance college and career readiness, foster a robust workforce, and cultivate healthier communities across Arizona. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation spearheads charitable and educational initiatives under the four key pillars of education, workforce development, wellness, and research.

By strengthening the alignment between education, business, and community, the Foundation equips individuals for both college and career paths, acts as a mediator to convey workforce requirements, and advocates for scalable workforce solutions. Furthermore, the Foundation positions Arizona and the Greater Phoenix region as prime destinations for healthy talent and thriving communities through workplace wellness initiatives and disseminates data-driven research to inform policymakers, business leaders, and the public.

About the Role:

The Business Partnership Coordinator will spearhead outreach efforts and devise strategies for employers to achieve their workforce development and civic engagement goals by involving them in ElevateEdAZ. This role entails onboarding new businesses and volunteers, nurturing relationships, and connecting them with suitable schools and programs. The Coordinator will collaborate with employers to expand immersive work-based learning opportunities for high school students.

This position will actively seek and onboard employers interested in offering internships, job shadowing, and other work-based learning and career exploration opportunities for students. The Business Partnership Coordinator will also organize various work-based learning experiences with employers, including educator externships.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate self-motivation with the ability to advance work independently. All employees of the Chamber are expected to collaborate effectively with other departments and function as team players to fulfill our organizational mission. The candidate must be highly organized and capable of ensuring continuous progress on multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with businesses interested in participating in ElevateEdAZ; ensure all partners are properly onboarded and trained, provide proactive communication, and address any issues that may arise.
  • Engage with current and prospective business partners to generate internship placements and job shadow opportunities for ElevateEdAZ partner schools.
  • Maintain business CRM and KPI trackers. Document all activities in the customer relationship management tool in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. Prepare related reports as necessary.
  • Coordinate career awareness and exploration events for high school students in collaboration with college and career coaches.
  • Participate in in-person networking meetings to ensure quality experiences for employers and school partners.
  • Facilitate student and educator externships throughout the academic year.
  • Organize meetings, prepare meeting materials, and provide follow-up as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The Foundation seeks candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role:

  • At least one year of experience working with business clients, sales, or client services preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, adept at building professional relationships with educators, business professionals, and community leaders.
  • Proficient in outreach, skilled in facilitating meetings, and capable of garnering employer support to benefit students and educators.
  • Able to effectively present to prospective business and community partners through virtual, in-person, or telephone methods.
  • Possess analytical skills to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers at all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly motivated to learn, grow professionally, and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Proficient in all MS Office products.
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.
  • Experience maintaining a CRM database.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Must pass a background check, fingerprint clearance, and a drug test.
