Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Subsurface Utility Engineer to play a crucial role in our utility locating operations. As a senior member of our field technical team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily field crew activities and ensuring precise utility mapping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertly operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment in intricate utility environments to accurately identify and map all utilities within designated project areas.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches, utilizing both electronic and manual methods.
  • Supervise and mentor field crew members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between T2 Utility Engineers and clients, subcontractors, and third parties during field operations.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Conduct Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings and perform Job Hazard Analyses with crew members.
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles as needed, without requiring a CDL license.
  • Oversee safety setups for traffic signage maintenance.
  • Manage monthly equipment inventory for supervisor reordering.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a SUE Field Technician II.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting utility company prints and design plans.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet client-required identity verification standards.
  • Capability to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for commercial vehicle operation.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. and perform necessary movements for operating heavy tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time, including extended stays.
  • OSHA Safety certifications are advantageous.
