Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Western State Hospital. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with complex mental and physical illnesses.

Job Summary:

The LPN will be responsible for administering medication and treatments, maintaining patient records, promoting health and wellness education, and communicating with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of patient care. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide health and wellness education to patients and their families
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of patient care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans
Requirements:
  • LPN licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current, Virginia license to practice as a LPN or license eligible
  • Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities, including medication administration
  • Ability to implement nursing care plans and provide guidance to other staff
  • Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff
