Job Overview

**Job Summary**

The Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for providing leadership support to the team and performing various tasks needed to help ensure that schedules are met safely. The Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and leading a cross-functioning support team that services the organization with the best interests of the internal and external customer in mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and Maintain Safety Procedures
  • Ensure all employees are practicing safe work methods and complying with OSHA and company standards.
  • Inform Management of Issues
  • Inform Management of any equipment, performance, product quality, safety, and employee relations issues.
  • Communicate with Departments
  • Communicate with various departments within the plant to ensure smooth and efficient operations for internal and external customers.
  • Guide and Instruct the Team
  • Guide and instruct the team on day-to-day activities; assign all jobs and tasks.
  • Maintain Good Relationships
  • Maintain good relationships within the team and throughout the organization.
  • Motivate and Recognize Employees
  • Motivate, recognize, and coach through candid conversations relating to safety, quality, production, attitude, or other performance related topics.
  • Arrange Necessary Materials
  • Arrange necessary materials, tools etc. for getting things accomplished efficiently.
  • Maintain a Positive Company Culture
  • Through engagement and caring, help to maintain a positive company culture.
  • Accountable for the Schedule
  • Accountable for the schedule and ensuring customer needs are being met.
  • Understand What Makes Robinson Successful
  • Understand what makes Robinson successful and direct action for improvement.
  • Evaluate and Lead Process Change
  • Evaluate and lead process change within the Shipping Receiving & Material Handling team as well as throughout the organization.
  • Take Ownership in Process Development
  • Take ownership in the development of processes and procedures to increase material flow and on time delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Work with Project Managers
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure customers' expectations are met.
  • Responsible for Accuracy
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the receipts, shipments, and all other transactions in the ERP system, including rectifying discrepancies in a timely manner while providing feedback and training to teammates causing inaccuracies.
  • Coordinate Cross Training
  • Coordinate the cross training of members to create a cross-functioning team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Prior Experience as Leader
  • Prior experience as leader in shipping, receiving, material handling or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to Operate a Forklift
  • Ability to operate a forklift in conjunction with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to See the Organization's Larger Goals
  • Ability to see the organization's larger goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and CSI is helpful.
  • 3+ Years of Leadership Experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to employees at all levels.
