Join Amazon's Vision for the Future

Are you prepared to transform the supply chain landscape? The Books Make-on-Demand Technologies (MOD Tech) organization is in search of a seasoned Senior Technical Program Manager to redefine how Amazon fulfills book orders through advanced content ingestion, on-demand production, and proactive inventory management.

With our Print-On-Demand (POD) model, customers can access any book in any language on Amazon, allowing publishers and authors to distribute their works globally without the burden of maintaining physical stock. Every title is perpetually available, with customer orders produced in real-time and delivered promptly, contributing to environmental sustainability by only printing what readers desire. Over the last decade, Amazon's POD initiative has expanded significantly, becoming a pivotal element of our physical media strategy. However, we believe it is still just the beginning. We invite you to develop robust solutions and architectures that will extend beyond books and into various products.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager within MOD Tech, you will independently spearhead extensive cross-organizational initiatives from inception to launch. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Influencing organizational roadmap priorities and technical direction.
  • Facilitating clear communication of complex trade-off decisions to senior leadership.
  • Identifying when additional technical expertise is required to unlock significant capabilities.
  • Managing communication across various functions to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Guiding the technical strategy to deliver solutions that meet Amazon's high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Focus Areas

Your primary focus will be on discovering opportunities to scale and automate processes while collaborating with multiple supply chain teams and POD manufacturing operations worldwide. A successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of Amazon's end-to-end architecture related to POD, retail, and fulfillment systems. You will engage with business and product stakeholders, software engineers, quality assurance, training, and operations teams to drive architectural enhancements aimed at optimizing complex fulfillment systems designed for traditional inventory management, utilizing just-in-time production methodologies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical product or program management.
  • 10+ years of direct collaboration with engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • A proven track record of managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience managing intricate technology projects.
  • Experience in the design or development of manufacturing, supply chain, or fulfillment systems.

Amazon is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or any other legally protected status.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position varies based on market location and may depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, Amazon offers a comprehensive total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a wide range of medical, financial, and other benefits.

We look forward to your interest in joining our MOD team and contributing to our mission of innovation and excellence.
