Our educators are nurturing individuals dedicated to fostering young minds and instilling a passion for learning. The Treasure Coast Christian Academy (TCCA) operates as the educational ministry of Family Church, a growing network of community churches and classical Christian schools located in South Florida.

This is a full-time role, reporting directly to the Campus Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate educational experience in the classroom utilizing storytelling, games, and engaging activities.
  • Guide students in adhering to classroom and school rules and procedures.
  • Assess student progress throughout the academic year and evaluate readiness for subsequent educational levels.
  • Communicate student progress and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity to parents and the director.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents.
  • Ensure safety and security standards are upheld for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for individual student files, attendance, incident reports, and other required records.
  • Complete in-service Childcare Training Credential hours as mandated by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and DCF Clearinghouse background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in classroom leadership and lesson plan development.
  • Familiarity with Florida Early Learning Standards and the capability to implement them.
  • Certification or progress towards certification in one of the following: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the classroom.
  • Capability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to engage with children at their eye level.
