Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Penobscot Community Health Center. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, and guardians, demonstrating kindness, empathy, and effective communication.
- Act as the first point of contact for patient care and scheduling, ensuring clear and accurate communication with the clinical team.
- Liaise between patients and clinical staff to ensure seamless communication, respect, and understanding.
- Complete patient registration and demographic updates, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collect and process patient payments, understanding the revenue cycle process.
- Schedule appointments according to protocol and guidelines, ensuring efficient use of clinical time.
- Stay informed about processes for records, referrals, billing, insurance, and our sliding fee application, answering patient inquiries to streamline the process.
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to identify opportunities for improving patient experience.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of Medical Terminology course preferred
- Two years of experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills required
