Job Title: Director of Elementary Education

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Elementary Education to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Student Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of special education programs and services for preschool and elementary grade level students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage special education teachers, support staff, and related services personnel in designated schools and programs.
  • Collaborate with school-based and district-level teams to develop, evaluate, and implement effective programs and services for students with disabilities.
  • Provide administrative support to principals, assistant principals, psychologists, and counselors regarding special education services and programs.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, community members, colleagues, and school staff to ensure seamless transitions for students moving up from grade to grade and onto middle school.
  • Ensure best educational practices related to inclusive, partial inclusion, and substantially separate programs.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university.
  • Massachusetts License as Special Education Administrator/Director.
  • Leadership experience in special education.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret diagnostic and assessment data.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the IEP process.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
