Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Support Specialist to join our team at FEDSYNC. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various HR activities, including processing personnel actions and providing guidance on HR policies.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a real impact on our Federal client's HR operations. You will be essential in ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes across multiple employment categories (SES, GS, FWS) using the NBC FPPS database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and recommend HR actions, including pay issues and incentive awards.
  • Assist with Employee and Labor Relations programs, including performance management and awards.
  • Advise on and handle the preparation and processing of personnel actions.
  • Maintain Official Personnel Folders and performance documentation.
  • Track key dates and manage tickler files for timely reminders.
  • Provide orientation to new employees on various HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct employment verifications and prepare orientation materials.
  • Calculate service computation dates and manage related documentation.
  • Support E&LR programs with administrative tasks such as filing, case tracking, and meeting minutes.
  • Review and correct position descriptions and personnel action requests.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience supporting Federal agencies, with familiarity in the duties listed above.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an administrative role, including managing telephone inquiries, preparing correspondence, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficiency in automated personnel/payroll systems and procedures.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to handle a high volume of inquiries, manage multiple tasks, and develop effective tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal abilities.
