About CAMBA: CAMBA is a collective of dedicated individuals, including staff, volunteers, clients, and partners, committed to fostering an inclusive environment in New York City. Our mission is to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their background, have access to essential resources and support systems necessary for their success. We offer over 180 integrated programs spanning various sectors such as Education, Family Support, Employment Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Assistance, reaching over 73,000 individuals and families annually.

Workforce Development and Refugee Services: CAMBA has successfully connected more than 25,000 New Yorkers to sustainable employment opportunities. Our initiatives are rooted in the principles of equity and inclusion, aiming to empower those who face significant economic and social challenges. We focus on assisting diverse job seekers, particularly those encountering barriers to employment, including refugees, political asylees, and young adults from various backgrounds. Our programs are tailored to match participants with specific training opportunities that align with local job markets, particularly in STEM fields.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative of CAMBA's services within the community, focusing on client engagement and recruitment.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies, including creating marketing materials and maintaining an outreach calendar.
  • Engage with potential clients and community stakeholders to raise awareness of available programs and services.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to community organizations and local government entities to promote our initiatives.
  • Conduct follow-ups with potential clients to ensure their needs are met and encourage participation in programs.
  • Assist clients in identifying and overcoming barriers to employment and education.
  • Perform initial assessments to determine clients' skills, experiences, and support needs.
  • Track and document client progress, ensuring accurate records for reporting purposes.
  • Guide clients in setting realistic career goals and the necessary steps to achieve them.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to enhance client outcomes and facilitate successful job placements.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Additional Skills:

  • Proactive in community engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Proficient in digital communication and social media outreach.
  • Adaptable to meet the diverse needs of clients through various communication platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work flexible hours as required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including refugees and low-income individuals, is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and additional languages such as French, Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, Fulani, or Tibetan is advantageous.
  • Must demonstrate empathy, cultural competence, and a strong work ethic.
