Job Description

R.S. Hughes Company, Inc. is a dynamic distributor of industrial supplies with over 50 warehouse sites in the United States and Mexico. We offer a comprehensive range of products from leading manufacturers, including 3M, Henkel Loctite, Momentive, Brady, Kimberly Clark, Ansell Edmont, and many others.

We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for expanding sales revenue and driving new market share in your assigned territory. You will work closely with our sales support team to identify new opportunities, develop sales strategies, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify new potential opportunities through prospecting, research, and cold calls
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand sales revenue and drive new market share
  • Work closely with the sales support team to provide exceptional customer service and support sales opportunities
  • Utilize a database and the internet to research prospects and qualify leads
  • Assist in assessing a client's business, analyzing data and costs to provide an accurate assessment of their environment
  • Proactively develop new client contacts and review leads
  • Support sales opportunities by providing information on product capabilities and technical specifications
  • Maintain records of all account activity within the sales database
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field (preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience (preferred)
  • Industry background and knowledge (preferred)
  • Passion for sales, outgoing, and comfortable working independently and with an inside sales team
  • Proven track record of sales success with a background in industrial supplies or similar
  • Ability to separate themselves in frustrating situations and guide customers to efficient solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, expanding sales environment
