Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and bilingual Substance Use Counselor proficient in both Spanish and English.

- Conducting thorough intake assessments and delivering individual, family, and group counseling to adults facing substance use challenges.
- Coordinating additional support services to meet clients' case management needs.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated treatment that aligns with the cultural needs of our clients.
- Evaluating and documenting the progress of clients during individual and group counseling sessions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitating individual and group educational sessions on substance abuse prevention and providing case management services, including assessments and crisis interventions.
  • Offering training and support to families.
  • Collaborating with various agencies to exchange information relevant to client care.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of counseling sessions and services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Supervising program participants and assisting with conflict resolution and medication adherence.
  • Developing and enhancing program materials and curricula.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development through workshops and training.
  • Participating actively in team meetings and community discussions.
Qualifications
  • Certification from a recognized state agency in substance abuse counseling.
  • Fluency in Spanish is essential.
  • Experience in group facilitation and sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Knowledge of community resources and substance abuse prevention strategies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed.
  • Proficient in case management and counseling techniques.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
  • Understanding of relevant policies and regulations governing mental health and substance use services.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using technology for documentation and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
