Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric services to patients in correctional facilities in California. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, including assessments of criminal, psychiatric, and substance abuse case history, to determine treatment recommendations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Document all patient interactions, including face-to-face contacts and team meetings, in a clear and concise manner.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Apply community standards of practice for psychiatric treatment modalities and adhere to ethical standards.
- Prescribe medication as deemed appropriate for treatment, utilizing the Correctional Formulary or obtaining non-formulary approval when necessary.
- Interpret laboratory results and make clinically appropriate referrals to medical services as needed.
- A minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein.
- Two to three professional references.
- Ability to speak, understand, and write effectively in the English language.
