At Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), we are committed to empowering individuals from diverse communities to find employment and build careers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Coach to join our team in Refugee Services.

About the Role:

The Career Coach will be responsible for developing strong job leads and providing high-quality career counseling, training, and job placement assistance to refugee and immigrant job seekers in the greater Boston area. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of issues related to individuals with significant barriers to employment, as well as experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enroll new participants via outreach and frequent communication with referral agencies and community partners.
  • Assist program participants in initial goal setting, career planning, and training leading to job placement, skills upgrades, and career advancement.
  • Provide job readiness and vocational training as needed, and escort participants to job interviews and facilitate the interview and hiring process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including participants, employers, partner organizations, and funders.
  • Contribute to the development of program dashboard indicators and participate in staff meetings and team-based projects.
Requirements:
  • An associate degree in human services, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in workforce development, coaching, or a related field is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment and knowledge of refugee or immigrant services is highly desired.
  • Bilingual or additional language proficiency is preferred, especially in languages spoken by refugee and immigrant participants.
