Full-Time Position: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,000, subject to qualifications.

Position Overview: This role is essential in performing reception, registration, and billing tasks within the front office of our Medical Practice, ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care.

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Licensure and Certification: None required.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills are essential. The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks is crucial. A solid understanding of healthcare delivery and billing processes is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to accurately record and interpret data, along with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Effective organization and prioritization of tasks are necessary for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and actively participate as a team member.
  • Welcome and guide patients and visitors according to established protocols.
  • Notify patients of any delays in their care.
  • Communicate schedule changes to physicians and other staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Schedule appointments, register patient information, and verify eligibility for care.
  • Utilize EMR and other software applications to complete tasks in accordance with policies.
  • Manage medical records, including chart preparation and filing of correspondence.
  • Prepare billing documentation and maintain provider schedules.
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles from patients as required.
  • Handle cash receipts, bank deposits, and balance cash drawers daily.
  • Convert diagnoses into appropriate ICD-9 codes.
  • Post charges and payments to patient accounts and assist in resolving denied claims.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments and other necessary information.
  • Determine eligibility and obtain authorization for services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
  • Assist in ordering necessary supplies.

Decision-Making: Exercise independent judgment in planning operations and making decisions in a complex healthcare environment.

Working Relationships: Collaborate directly with patients and customers, as well as with healthcare professionals and staff at various levels.
