Patient Service Representative: Hospitalist

Job Summary: As a key member of the Hospitalist team at Saint Francis Hospital, Inc., the Patient Service Representative will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front office. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks, including reception, registration, and billing functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic and billing information.
  • Process patient payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
  • Prepare and distribute provider schedules, including application of templates and hold times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in quality initiatives and safety functions to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Stay informed and compliant with current Health System, Warren Clinic, HIPAA, and OSHA policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.

Working Relationships: This role will work directly with patients, providers, and staff to ensure effective communication and care delivery. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Special Job Dimensions: This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. The Patient Service Representative must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
