We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a key member of our revenue cycle management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission process for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely completion of medical necessity / compliance checks.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, as well as process physician orders and utilize an overlay tool to ensure accurate and efficient patient registration.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls, adhering to policies and providing exceptional customer service.
- Conduct quality audits and reporting to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounts, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
- Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
- Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
- Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes, entering benefit data into systems to support point of service collections and billing processes.
- Accurately screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software to inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment of tests by Medicare, and distribute ABNs as appropriate.
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certification: CRCR Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
