Risk Management Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Safety and Compliance Specialist. This role will assist our Safety Manager and Safety Specialist in implementing organization safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Planning and Implementing Safety Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with the Safety Manager and Safety Specialist to develop and implement safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Train Managers and Employees on Safety Practices: Assist in planning and implementing programs to train managers and employees on work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
- Provide Administrative and Technical Direction: Assist in providing administrative and technical direction and updates on all corporate safety and health programs, procedures, and policies.
- Conduct Safety Inspections and Investigations: Assist in conducting safety inspections at client facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Prepare Studies and Analyses of Industrial Accident Causes: Prepare studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
- Assist in Investigating Accidents and Injuries: Assist in investigating accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Assist in Preparing Safety Exhibits and Materials: Assist in preparing and arranging safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
- Attend Safety Committee Meetings: Observe and assist in conducting monthly safety committee meetings.
- Purchase Safety Equipment and Supplies: Purchase safety equipment, material, and supplies as required.
- Assist in Formulating and Initiating Training Programs: Assist in formulating and initiating training programs for employees and supervisors.
- Assist in Inspecting Company Equipment: Assist in inspecting company equipment such as fork lifts, chain fall, genie lift.
- Pursuing a College degree in safety and/or construction-related field.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills required (Microsoft products).
