Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service abilities essential for success in this role. A successful applicant must demonstrate the capacity to provide clear and comprehensive oral and written instructions, exhibit strong organizational skills, prioritize tasks effectively, utilize proper grammar, and edit proficiently. While a foundational understanding of courtroom procedures, legal terminology, and the interrelation of various clerk's office processes is preferred, it is not mandatory. Attention to detail is crucial, as it is a vital competency for this position. Proficiency in automated computer systems, including Word, Outlook, CM/ECF, PACER, and other data entry platforms, is required. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience at a lower classification level to be eligible for advancement. Although a bachelor's degree is favored, all candidates must possess at least an associate degree. A paralegal degree and/or relevant paralegal experience is also advantageous.

The selected individual will undergo an FBI fingerprint check as a condition of employment and may be subject to periodic updates.

Specialized Experience

Applicants should have progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that necessitates the regular application of clerical procedures, showcasing the ability to adhere to a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws. This experience should involve routine utilization of specialized terminology and automated software for word processing, data entry, or report generation. Such experience is typically found in law firms, legal counsel offices, banking institutions, educational entities, social service organizations, insurance companies, real estate and title offices, and corporate human resources or payroll departments.

Benefits

Compensation and classification levels will be determined based on the successful candidate's work experience, qualifications, and salary history. To qualify at a CL 24, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at the CL 23 level. To qualify at a CL 25, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at the CL 24 level. To qualify at a CL 26, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at the CL 25 level.
