Job Title: Marine Engineer

Are you a skilled Marine Engineer looking for a challenging role in the Navy? We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Engineer to join our team at Serco Inc. in Norfolk, VA.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Engineer to provide material assessment support and crew training to U.S. Navy ships. As a Marine Engineer, you will work closely with the Type Commander Material Inspection Team to prepare ships for INSURV Material Inspections and Readiness Evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide material assessment support and crew training to U.S. Navy ships
  • Work closely with the Type Commander Material Inspection Team to prepare ships for INSURV Material Inspections and Readiness Evaluations
  • Assist in developing class equipment trends and commonalities across TMIT assist visit results
  • Provide written assessments of material condition, crew knowledge, and Combat Systems readiness
  • Make recommendations for providing additional TYCOM assistance if needed
Requirements:
  • BA/BS or associate degree, and 3 years of demonstrated experience within the last 5 years
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required
  • Ability to travel 50%
Desired Experience and Skills:
  • Recent experience (within the last 5 years) operating or maintaining Combat Systems equipment
  • Retired E7/E8
  • Experience as an Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV), Inspector at the Afloat Training Group, or TYCOM staff focusing on Pre-INSURV preparations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
