We are seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely delivery of our services. HVAC Technicians are mobile professionals who utilize various trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmithing, painting, and roofing to serve a diverse clientele within a designated geographical area. Technicians are equipped with a company vehicle, tools, and equipment, and operate from their home base, accessing their daily routes through company-provided devices.

Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for delivering effective and timely services to multiple clients within an assigned geographic area. This role involves traveling to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties. In addition to performing minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance, the HVAC Technician conducts preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of commercial HVAC systems. Technicians analyze data to ensure proper equipment functioning and provide recommendations as necessary. A strong understanding of control operations and sequences for commercial HVAC systems is essential. Technicians must possess excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on standard package and split unit HVAC systems commonly found among light commercial clients, including inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, cleaning of condensate drain lines, and testing of compressor and fan motor performance.
  • Perform general repairs on steam/hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues.
  • Utilize refrigerants safely and efficiently in compliance with EPA regulations for standard HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or system failures on standard HVAC systems, including belts, pulleys, compressors, and more.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and repairs as outlined in work orders.
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance tasks, such as unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
  • Carry out routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities in excellent condition.
  • Execute minor electrical maintenance tasks within state law requirements.
  • Conduct service and asset inspections as required.
  • Utilize technology effectively to access and complete work orders, including service reports and quality inspections.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal support teams to foster positive relationships.
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and participate in weekly safety meetings.
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or Degree/Certification in relevant fields preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HVAC/General Maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in using handheld devices and business systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Willingness to travel locally between properties.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am-4pm

Licenses/Certifications:

  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, and talk or hear. Frequently required to climb or balance. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Work Environment:

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet conditions, high places, fumes, and extreme temperatures.

Compensation Range: $33 - $35 / hour

Other Compensation: Eligible for sign-on bonus.
