We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Emcor Inc. as a Commercial Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely delivery of our line of services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Complete thorough preventative maintenance checks and services on all standard package and split unit HVAC systems, including inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, inspection and cleaning of condensate drain lines, testing power/performance of compressor, fan motor, blower motor, testing function and safety of burners/heat exchangers, and function of all safety and operational controls.
- General Repairs: Perform general repairs of steam/hot water boiler systems, diagnose airflow and ducting repairs, and safely diagnose and repair common mechanical, electrical, or system failure issues on standard boiler, package and split unit HVAC systems.
- Refrigerant Handling: Safely handle and use refrigerants in support of standard package and split unit HVAC systems.
- Minor Plumbing and Electrical Maintenance: Perform minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks in drains and faucets, replacing toilets and faucet fixtures as needed, and performing minor electrical maintenance as allowed without a license within state law requirements.
- Carpentry and Painting: Perform routine painting, carpentry work, and other tasks as necessary to maintain our clients' facilities in like-new condition.
- Service Inspections and Asset Inspections: Complete service inspections and asset inspections as needed, and fully utilize technology, including tablets and smartphones.
- Communication and Customer Service: Maintain timely and consistent communications with customers and internal support teams, create a positive climate with the client, and provide and generate customer satisfaction.
- Training and Compliance: Obtain and complete EFS required safety and compliance training, attend weekly safety meetings, and comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or degree/certification, or equivalent professional experience in landscaping, trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.), or specialty floor care, preferred. 5 years of HVAC/general maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, required.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations. Ability to use and operate handheld devices and business systems or document management database software.
- Licenses and Certifications: EPA Universal, must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver's license in good standing.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is considered normal. Required to drive a company vehicle daily.
