About EMCOR Government Services:
EMCOR Government Services is a prominent entity within EMCOR Group, Inc., recognized nationally for excellence in integrated Facilities Management. We are in search of proficient HVAC Technicians to ensure the effective and timely delivery of our services. Our HVAC Technicians are mobile professionals who utilize a range of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmithing, painting, and roofing to serve a diverse clientele across designated territories. Technicians will be equipped with a company vehicle, tools, and equipment, and will manage their daily routes via company-provided devices.
Position Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality services to various clients within a specified geographic area. This role involves traveling to multiple customer sites to maintain commercial properties. Responsibilities include performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing commercial HVAC systems. Technicians will conduct tests and analyze data to ensure optimal equipment performance and provide recommendations as necessary. A strong understanding of control operations and the sequence of operations for commercial HVAC systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on standard HVAC systems commonly used by light commercial clients, including inspections and repairs of belts, pulleys, and condensate drain lines.
- Perform general repairs on steam and hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues.
- Utilize refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA regulations while servicing HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on HVAC systems, including components such as compressors and condensing units.
- Complete work orders efficiently and maintain communication regarding work order status.
- Engage in minor plumbing and electrical maintenance as permitted by state regulations.
- Utilize technology effectively to access and complete work orders, submit reports, and maintain records.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and ensure customer satisfaction through timely communication and service delivery.
- Attend safety meetings and complete required training to maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Provide estimates for larger projects and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent certification in relevant trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and general maintenance, including electrical and plumbing work.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and safety policies.
- Proficient in using handheld devices and business management software.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to travel locally between job sites.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am-4pm
Licenses/Certifications:
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver's license in good standing
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to mechanical parts and potential electrical hazards.
