Job Description

**Job Summary:**

St. Xavier Home Care Services is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) and Respite Services to children and their families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children's mental health, addiction, and/or foster care, and will be able to provide individualized support and guidance to families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide PSR services to children and their families, including rehabilitation to assist with relearning, restoring, or readjusting skills, socialization, adjustment, community, and behavioral health barriers.
  • Deliver Respite Services to provide short-term relief for children and caregivers, enhancing the family's primary ability to support the child's functional, developmental, and behavioral health.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and families to develop and implement individualized plans to support the child's needs and goals.
  • Provide training and education to caregivers and families on methods for successful placement and community adjustment.
  • Assist families during community transitions, such as from one school to another or placement, and provide support to help them navigate the community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the child's integration into the community, including schools, recreation centers, and other community-based settings.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related human services field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in children's mental health, addiction, and/or foster care; or equivalent experience in human services working with children/youth.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with children, families, and caregivers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
