We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Dignity Health Medical Foundation. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing cardiac diagnostic procedures, including echos, stress tests, and vascular studies, on a variety of patient populations in our outpatient Cardiology clinic.
Responsibilities- Perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular studies.
- Explain procedures to patients, prepare them for testing, and calibrate equipment with exceptional accuracy.
- Prioritize studies by patient status and age of order within your scheduled shift.
- Prepare test results for physicians' interpretation, providing all pertinent patient data and accurately recording measurements.
- Copy and disperse study results to appropriate areas and initiate charges for patient accounts.
- Maintain proper care of equipment, including cleaning and restocking, to minimize downtime.
- Notify clinic leadership of any equipment failures to ensure timely repair.
- Assist with procedures and various duties of EKG technicians between scheduled tests.
- Completion of an Echo Technician program required.
- Substantial knowledge of EKG procedures and equipment, basic cardiac and human body anatomy, basic interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, general filing procedures, electrical safety standards, aseptic techniques, typing and office skills, and proper phone techniques.
- Ability to perform quality echocardiographic studies, work with computer billing systems, establish and maintain good working relationships with hospital personnel, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- One year of experience as an Echo/Stress Tech preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Philips IE33 and Epiq Ultrasound Machines helpful.
