Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

As a Sonographer II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment. This position requires a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when explaining procedures to patients and obtaining their cooperation.
Key responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for examination, selecting equipment and transducers according to specifications, and operating ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal organs. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of test results and orienting new hires.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when explaining procedures to patients.
- Prepare and position patients for examination.
- Select equipment and transducers according to specifications.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal organs.
- Maintain accurate records of test results.
- Orient new hires.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required. The candidate must have 2 certifications from the following list: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast, Registered Vascular Technician Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echocardiogram Certificate, Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Fetal Echocardiography Certification, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate, Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Pediatric Sonography Certification, Basic Life Support.
Additional Requirements:
NT certification is required to perform genetic screening for Prenatal Diagnostic Centers. Applicants may be hired without certification, but will be required to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
