About the Role:

Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team in the Cardiology clinic. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing cardiac diagnostic procedures, including echos, stress tests, and vascular studies, on a variety of patient populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular studies.
  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for the study.
  • Prioritize studies by patient status and age of order within your scheduled shift.
  • Prepare test results for physicians' interpretation and accurately record measurements.
  • Maintain proper care of equipment, including cleaning and re-stocking, to minimize downtime.
  • Notify clinic leadership of any equipment failures and assist with procedures and duties of EKG technicians as needed.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an Echo Technician program required.
  • Substantial knowledge of EKG procedures and equipment, basic cardiac and human body anatomy, and basic interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Ability to perform a quality echocardiographic study of the heart, including 2D color flow mapping and TEE procedures, on all patient age groups.
  • Ability to work with computer billing systems and establish and maintain a good working relationship with hospital personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as an Echo/Stress Tech preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Philips IE33 and Epiq Ultrasound Machines helpful.
