New York, New York, United States Clear Street Full time
About Clear Street

Clear Street is a pioneering financial services firm that is revolutionizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, the company is a diversified financial services firm that is replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today's complex, global market. Our platform is fully integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges to support billions in trading volume per day. We've agonized about our data model abstractions, created horizontal scalability, and crafted thoughtful APIs. All so we can provide a best-in-class experience for our clients.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we're building the essentials to compete in today's fast-paced markets.

The Team

As a leader in the Information Security team, you'll have the opportunity to shape Clear Street's maturing information security program and influence the security posture of the company. In this role specifically, you'll be responsible for exploring risks in various business and operational areas, design mitigation strategies and lead mitigation plans using out-of-the-box thinking and strong technological understanding.

You will:

  • Investigate and evaluate security risks for various environments and attack vectors, using threat modeling methods, independently and with collaboration with members in the security department
  • Build strategies for mitigating security risks, tailored to the company's business and operational processes, and develop them into risk mitigation programs
  • Explore security technologies, evaluate their security value and design proper use of these technologies
  • Partner with counterparties from different areas in the company to understand business processes and operational processes, in order to design proper mitigation strategies
  • Work with GRC and Compliance teams in order to address regulatory security requirements
  • Evaluate and prioritize execution tasks for your strategies and plans, and work with relevant counterparties in order to execute them
  • Continue to assess and communicate risks in the areas under your responsibility to the CISO

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • At least 5 years of experience in security architecture roles
  • Deep understanding of security risks, threat vectors and techniques
  • Experience with security technologies around infrastructure security, such as network security, data security, systems hardening, access management etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to run cross company programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical parties, explain risk and understand business and operational processes
  • Ability to think outside the box and apply creative thinking when designing mitigation strategies
  • Understanding of modern technology stacks

We Offer

A competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $180,000 - $210,000, company equity, 401k matching, gender neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental and vision insurance. We also offer a dynamic work environment, with a focus on collaboration and innovation.

At Clear Street, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. We're committed to creating a culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we're proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
