Position Summary

The Senior Project Engineering Manager (Sr. PEM) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the technical execution of integrating components and product subsystems for large-scale hydro projects. This position requires close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering Centers of Excellence, and Project Office functions to ensure that targeted cost and product performance objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and define customer requirements, ensuring system conformity to contractual specifications;
  • Develop WORK packages for the Centre of Excellence, detailing client requirements, interfaces, planning, performance, reliability, and costs;
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external interfaces as outlined in the Interface Matrix;
  • Oversee risks and opportunities, managing margin movements within project scope;
  • Ensure proper management of technical documentation, including equipment use and maintenance;
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers and external partners;
  • Evaluate design alternatives and optimization opportunities during the design phase;
  • Deliver specifications and interface data to partners, including system, turbines, generators, and civil engineers;
  • Validate schematics and documentation for specific project aspects;
  • Gather and coordinate feedback from various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Assess and manage changes related to customer requirements or GE standards;
  • Participate in project review and milestone meetings;
  • Coordinate site activity support with the Centre of Excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in project execution and engineering design specific to hydro turbines and generators;
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
