Overview:

Position Summary:

As a pivotal member of the engineering team, the individual will oversee all technical facets of assigned projects. This role involves orchestrating engineering initiatives concerning budgetary constraints, timelines, performance metrics, and compliance with certification standards. The candidate will play a crucial leadership role, significantly impacting technical decisions and fostering innovation within the organization. The position demands a proactive approach to process enhancement and team discipline, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, product specifications, FAA regulations, and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership: Define, manage, and provide technical guidance for commercial or military projects within the Engineering Department, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and delivery (QCD) standards. Implement and manage the system engineering (stage gate) process for product development.

2. Project Tracking: Monitor engineering projects from initial concept through to final execution and approval. Establish project scope based on Statements of Work (SOW) from clients, develop resource plans, and generate status reports.

3. Resource Management: Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Certification Manager to determine project staffing and technical needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

4. Certification Coordination: Manage schedule certification requirements and provide technical support for fabrication and certification activities. Oversee and document testing processes, interfacing with various stakeholders, including suppliers and end-users.

5. Team Leadership: Inspire and guide team members and junior engineers to promote timely problem resolution and adherence to project schedules.

Additional Requirements:

- 7-10 years of experience in project/program management.

- 7-10 years of experience in project management, design, analysis, and certification of aircraft systems, collaborating with engineering teams in both military and civilian sectors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.

- Professional Engineer certification and/or a Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Skills:

- Strong business acumen and the ability to navigate complex business situations.

- Proficient in multitasking within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.

- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:

Pay range: USD $98,000 - $135,000.00 per year.
