Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records in line with established protocols and standards.
  • Ensure secure storage of all medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Process requests for medical records from authorized healthcare providers and insurance entities.
  • Oversee the central supply inventory, placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Assist clinical staff in locating and retrieving medical records and supplies efficiently.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records and inventory to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized central supply storage area.
  • Participate in in-service training and departmental meetings.
  • Support other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

- RHIT certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical records or central supply role is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical terminology and record-keeping practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and operate efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in computer software and electronic medical record systems
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
