Assistant Project Manager for Commercial and Special Projects
This position is hosted by Jobot.

Salary:
$80,000 - $110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preconstruction/Estimating: Engage in post-bid activities, buyout processes, and ensure compliance with prequalification and CCIP requirements. Coordinate with subcontractors and staff, and facilitate meetings.
  • Production/Operations: Support the Superintendent and Project Manager in developing the construction plan. Regularly update schedules as per contract requirements or Project Manager directives.
  • Change Management: Prepare and negotiate change proposals, initiate change orders with necessary approvals, and communicate these changes to subcontractors.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain logs for tracking shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and other critical project documentation.
  • Financial Tracking: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of cost events and contract billing by compiling invoices from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Communication: Aid in generating directives, preparing meeting minutes, memos, and other communications as required.
  • Safety Oversight: Participate in monthly site safety reviews and recommend actions based on findings.
  • Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and municipal authorities.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred 4-year degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.

Skills:
  • Proficient in scheduling, procurement, budget control, financial reporting, and client relations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Primavera, Procore, Excel).
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • LEED certification is a plus.
