Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in preconstruction activities, including post-bid buyout, verification of prequalification requirements, and coordination of subcontractors and staff.
  • Compile essential information such as unit pricing, labor rates, material costs, and availability.
  • Support the Superintendent and Project Manager in developing construction plans.
  • Update project schedules as mandated by contracts or as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Assist in short-term scheduling by confirming workforce, material deliveries, and supplier readiness.
  • Prepare and negotiate change proposals and manage change orders with necessary approvals.
  • Track and expedite logs for shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and other project documentation.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of project plans, specifications, and all related documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract billing by organizing subcontractor and supplier invoices.
  • Generate directives and communications, including meeting minutes and memos as required.
  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring completion of punch lists and final documentation.
  • Conduct monthly safety reviews of project conditions and report findings to the Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders involved in the project.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will possess a four-year degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of three years in a Project Engineer or Field Engineer role is required.


Essential Skills:
Proficiency in scheduling, procurement, budget management, financial reporting, and client relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership abilities, and organizational skills are crucial. Familiarity with contract documents, drawings, and project schedules is necessary. Competence in scheduling and spreadsheet software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, Excel) is expected. OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred, and knowledge of LEED principles is a plus.
