Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Support Specialist to join our team at Bechtel Construction Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our field operations, ensuring the smooth execution of projects and maintaining high levels of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to field operations, including filing, copying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Assist in composing routine correspondence and coordinating activities.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of training facilities.
  • Perform data entry using project databases within assigned departments.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee and project files.
  • Assist in coordinating meeting arrangements and catering services for department functions.
  • Order project or department supplies and maintain supply cabinets.
  • Distribute incoming and outgoing documents.
  • Stay up-to-date with project and department systems, services, and process improvements.
  • Process procedural steps in accordance with well-defined procedures and guidelines.
  • Support the recruitment process by interviewing potential candidates.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable work experience with 10 years of experience in construction.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and time management skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience of one or more discipline skill sets (Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Rigging, Electrical, etc.).
  • Ability to relate to Client, Management, Supervision, and teamwork.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable.
  • Supervision experience is desirable.
  • Experience in formal or informal teaching/training/instruction is desirable.

Workforce Training Instructor:

  • Responsible for the Skill Verification, Competent to Operate program (CTO), and training Craft Professionals.
  • Support of Craft Professional training program on the project.
  • Conduct NCCER Project specific training.
  • Ensure that the training and assessments programs are consistent with NCCER.
  • Provides training to all levels of helpers, journeymen, foremen, and general foremen.
  • Responsible for Craft Competency Compliance to ES&H Core Processes and SWPP's.
  • Maintain good communication with the leaders of each trade associated with the project, to define needs and provide construction support with any specific training.
  • Support recruitment when needed by interviewing potential Crafts applying for jobs with technical questions to ensure we hire Craft Professionals with the desired experience.
  • Keep in mind and share with our Craft Professionals the Vision, Values, and Commitments (VV&C) letter of our company.
  • Update all material for each trade when appropriate. This considers presentations, theoretical, and practical test formats.

Field visits to assess and verify the progress of the skills taught in the training are also a key responsibility of this role.
