Join Our Team as an Automation Engineer
At SIMCO, we pride ourselves on being a leading organization in the management and operation of critical waste disposal systems. We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to enhance our Safety Significant Confinement Ventilation System. This role is essential in supporting our government clients in the field of nuclear waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
- Implement design changes through the Engineering Change Notice process.
- Utilize programming tools such as RSLogix Studio 5000 and Factory Talk View.
- Interface with various instruments and field devices, ensuring seamless integration with existing PLC systems.
- Provide technical support for SCADA software interfacing.
- Understand and apply communication protocols like Modbus and TCP/IP.
- Support testing and commissioning activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with two years of relevant technical experience, or
- Associate's Degree with six years of relevant technical experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with ten years of relevant technical experience.
Technical experience must include at least two years of programming and troubleshooting PLCs, along with knowledge in system control and automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Certification in Ignition and/or Rockwell Automation.
- Experience with Rockwell PLCs and Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems in mining environments.
