Job Summary

Felton Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Early Intervention program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to young children with special needs and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental needs and create individualized intervention plans
  • Provide direct intervention services to children with special needs, including those on the Autism spectrum, in a variety of settings, including the center and community
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver services to young children with special needs
  • Work closely with Early Childhood Educators and other teaching staff to support the optimal growth and development of children with special needs in the classroom
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, providing coaching and support to help them meet their child's needs
  • Document and maintain accurate records of child progress, intervention plans, and other relevant information
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in early intervention
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working directly with children with special needs and their families
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Familiarity with Community Care Licensing and Title 5, Title 17 Regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with evidence-based intervention approaches, such as the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), routines-based intervention, positive behavior support, ABA, etc.
  • Experience working in an inclusion/early intervention program model
  • Commitment to social justice, empowerment of families, and support for diversity
  • Knowledge of the child development field and dynamics of low-income families
