Job Summary

Felton Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Early Intervention program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to young children with special needs and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental needs and create individualized intervention plans
  • Provide direct intervention services to children with special needs, including those on the Autism spectrum, in a variety of settings, including the center and community
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver services to young children with special needs
  • Work closely with Early Childhood Educators and other teaching staff to support the optimal growth and development of children with special needs in the classroom
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, providing coaching and capacity-building to support their child's growth and development at home
  • Document and maintain accurate records of child progress, intervention plans, and other related administrative duties
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children with special needs and their families using assessment and intervention skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and other relevant programs
  • Familiarity with Community Care Licensing and Title 5, Title 17 Regulations
  • Experience working in an inclusion/early intervention program model preferred
  • Commitment to social justice, empowerment of families, and support for diversity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with and training in evidence-based intervention approaches, such as the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), routines-based intervention, positive behavior support, ABA, etc.
  • Knowledge of the child development field and dynamics of low-income families
  • Knowledge of San Francisco child care and family services communities preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently under broad supervision
