Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Human Resources will lead the human resources function for Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS), providing strategic HR leadership and support for the Business Services Division (BSD). This role will coach and counsel managers on complex employee and labor relations issues, ensuring compliance with University policy and employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the human resources function for RHS, incorporating Housing, Dining, Off-Campus Services, University Club & Conference Services
- Provide strategic HR leadership and support for BSD, including projects and HR consultation
- Coach and counsel managers on complex employee and labor relations issues
- Facilitate issue resolution and work closely with leadership to create and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate on staffing and talent management, employee and labor relations, benefits, diversity, and HR systems and services
- Provide a full range of HR support to staff and management clients
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, 3-5 years of related experience in human resources management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred, business and/or consulting experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience providing HR services for a unionized workforce required
- Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment desirable
- Strong analytical and project leadership skills required
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and coaching skills required
- Excellent organizational, customer service, presentation/facilitation, and communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement a wide range of programs independently and in collaboration with other professionals
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and analytical tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational, and customer service orientation required
Working Conditions:
This position may be required to work on weekends or evenings in support of key RHS activities.
