Program Specialist Job Description

Resources for Human Development is seeking a Program Specialist to support the health, safety, and growth of individuals in our program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and coordinating with external entities. This role requires a strong commitment to the RHD values and a willingness to maintain a minimum of 24 hours of in-service training per calendar year.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Coordinate with external entities, including the Social Security Administration and medical insurance companies.
  • Develop and maintain a catalog of community resources and activities.
  • Train direct care staff in individual support plans and mentor them in day-to-day implementation and documentation.
  • Create an environment that empowers individuals through the development of skills and coordination of resources and supportive services.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or above from an accredited college or university (Special Education desired) and 1 year of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism. OR
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism. OR
  • Associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.
