Position Overview

The Public Area Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel’s public spaces. This position is essential for ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Receive daily assignments and prioritize tasks as directed by management.
  2. Prepare and stock cleaning carts with necessary supplies to facilitate efficient cleaning operations.
  3. Conduct regular walkthroughs of assigned areas at the start and end of each shift, ensuring cleanliness and order.
  4. Remove waste, service trays, and other debris from public areas, and report any immediate cleaning needs.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other common areas in line with company standards.
  6. Perform routine checks on public space amenities such as televisions, telephones, and lighting fixtures.
  7. Handle soiled linens and waste according to established procedures.
  8. Address and resolve guest inquiries and complaints related to housekeeping services.
  9. Report any emergencies, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to management promptly.
  10. Ensure lost and found items are reported and processed according to company policy.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent experience in a similar role preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism.
