The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, outstanding communication abilities, and thrive in a dynamic environment. As the initial point of contact for our patients, it is essential to create a professional and inviting atmosphere during their visit. Our specialists must accurately and efficiently gather patient information while reassuring them that our clinical team is dedicated to their well-being.
Our facilities operate seven days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Expect to work 3-12 hour shifts weekly, including rotating weekends.
This position is eligible for a retention incentive.
Job Overview: The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for welcoming and registering patients, collecting demographic and insurance details, and assisting with financial inquiries, including processing copays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients warmly and assist them as needed.
- Gather and verify accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Utilize the computer system to generate fee slips and ensure information accuracy.
- Provide necessary forms for patient completion and ensure all fields are filled out correctly.
- Keep patients informed about their account status.
- Notify clinical staff when patients are ready for consultation.
- Handle payments, including insurance co-pays.
- Coordinate patient records across different clinic locations when required.
- Assist with referrals and prior authorizations.
- Maintain familiarity with all locations and their operational hours.
- Answer phone calls and relay messages to appropriate staff.
- Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying and filing.
- Maintain logs of daily activities, including patient counts and financial transactions.
- Audit financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Manage office supplies to support smooth operations.
- Provide support to team members and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a medical or retail setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with medical software is a plus.
Work Environment: This role is situated in a medical office setting, which may involve exposure to various health-related conditions.
Physical Requirements: The position requires extensive computer use and regular communication with patients, which may involve periods of stress.
Position Type: Full-time positions require shifts during operational hours, including weekends.
